Self-Transcendence & Equity in Global Health
Psychedelic & Contemplative Sciences and Traditional Knowledge Systems
For the last decade as a psychedelic renaissance has been unfolding in higher income countries (HICs) there has been a growing body of evidence of psychedelic therapeutic effectiveness in biomedical clinical settings. However, research and practice in middle- and low-income countries has been lacking. To advance global public health, research is needed through the support of global experts. A global network should include diverse stakeholders to support learning, research and policy development. We propose an integrated, community-based model. Policy efforts should prioritize country-level reform, use of public health and human rights metrics and the rights of indigenous people.
